Welcome to Crafted! We're excited to have you on board. Let’s get you set up step-by-step to ensure a seamless onboarding experience on our content creation platform.
Onboarding
Step 1: Visit our platform.
Step 2: Personal and Contact Information.
- Username: Most creators prefer using their Instagram handle.
- Email: This is crucial as it's used for:
- Notifications about tasks.
- PayPal payments. You must sign up with the same email that is connected to your PayPal account.
- Please choose an email address you regularly monitor.
- Password: Ensure it's strong for security purposes.
Step 3: Create a Captivating Profile.
- Profile Picture & Name: This is your first impression to brands! Most creators sync this with their social media profiles.
- Bio: Keep it concise, but make sure it captures your essence and your content aptly.
Step 4: Essential Details for Collaboration.
- Mailing Address: This helps us in two ways:
- For sending products to you for video creation.
- Identifying your location for regional campaigns.
- Instagram Handle: Brands often check your Instagram before collaborating. Ensure:
- It's a creator or business account.
- It is active
- TikTok Integration: Connect your TikTok by pressing the relevant button and allowing the integration. This helps:
- Provide brands with a comprehensive view of your profile.
- Track the performance of your posts related to Crafted campaigns automatically, saving you the trouble of manual reporting.
If you are active on both TikTok and Instagram, it is critical that you connect both as you can earn more by posting on both! However, we cannot track and compensate you if you do not set up both in Crafted.

Congratulations! You're now a part of the Crafted community. Navigate to “Apply to Tasks” on the sidebar to explore job opportunities.
Applying to Job Opportunities
Understanding Job Opportunities:
- User-generated content (UGC) tasks: These opportunities require you to create short-form video content to which brands have full usage rights in perpetuity. Meaning, they post the content, not you. You are compensated per asset.
- Influencer tasks: These opportunities require that you post. You must have at least 3k followers and at least a 3% engagement rate to be eligible for influencer tasks. Compensation is based on projected reach, historical performance and a content creation fee.
At Crafted, we prioritize efficiency and aim to offer maximum job opportunities. Compensation based on performance ensures equity and promises better future deals for you. As your account grows, so does your compensation.
Task Add-Ons:
These enhance the brand's reach and user experience.
- Reviews: Beyond creating videos, brands may require product reviews on retail sites. This boosts their credibility among retailers and other consumers.
- Photos: Apart from videos, brands value product shots in real-life contexts. These are often used on brand websites or social media platforms to showcase the product in authentic settings.
- Recipes: Many of our clients are food brands. Recipes serve:
- Educational purposes.
- Use case demonstrations.
- SEO benefits on their websites.
All task add-ons come with additional compensation, emphasizing the value you bring to the brand.
Step 1: Understanding Task Requirements
- Location: Confirm you're in the specified states, cities, or regions.
- Retailer Accessibility: Make sure:
- You have access to the retailer where the product is available.
- Check store locators/lists given in the task brief.
- Remember, some tasks might cater to membership-based stores, so ensure you're a member.
- Target Audience: Ensure that either you or your audience align with the task's target demographic.
Step 2: Applying to Tasks
- Descriptive Proposal: Before hitting apply, briefly describe your video concept idea. Try to be creative and unique to improve your chances of getting selected.
- Alignment with Task Brief: It is extremely important to read the task brief carefully. Ensure your proposal is in line with the brand's requirements.
Step 3: Understanding Influencer Task Restrictions
- Platform Restrictions: Ensure you've connected the relevant social media account(s) as per the task requirements.
- If a campaign is only on TikTok and you haven't connected your TikTok, you won't be able to submit a proposal, and the same applies for Instagram.
- If you connect both accounts, you must post on both platforms for campaigns that include both platforms.
Step 4: Post-Application
- Proposal Confirmation: Upon submission, you'll see a success message, signifying the proposal's receipt.
- Manage Tasks Tab: Here, you can monitor all your ongoing tasks and their statuses. Regularly check this space, especially for tasks that need your attention.
- Approval Notification: Once approved for a task, you'll receive an email notification.
After Proposal Approval
Step 5: Product Acquisition
Brands typically provide products to creators in three ways:
- Shipping: Ensure your address is on file. Once shipped, the brand will supply a tracking number.
- Product Reimbursement: Here, you'll receive a credit on Crafted to offset the product's cost. You'll then be directed to a nearby store with product stock.
- Promo Codes: Use the given promo code on the specified product page at checkout, discounting the product cost to zero.
Step 6: After Product Receipt
- Timeliness: You have 7 days to create and submit your content. At Crafted, we value speed and quality, so promptness is appreciated.
- Future Incentives: We're planning to reward punctual creators with enhanced compensation rates.
- Thorough Review: Before filming, go through the task brief and talking points to reduce revision requirements and ensure alignment with brand needs.
Step 7: Addressing Add-ons
- Reviews: Screen-capture your review before uploading it on the retailer's website. This screenshot is crucial for compensation.
- Photos: Provide three product photos in the specified field.
- Recipes: Visit the “Recipes” tab and click “Create Recipe.” Ensure the brand's product name is prominent in the recipe title and ingredients. Post-submission, you can edit if required.
Step 8: Submission
- Head to the “Manage Task” tab.
- Select your task and review the task brief once more.
- Go through our quality checklist to ensure your content meets standards.
- Post submission, watch for a confirmation message. Stay updated on Crafted for possible revision notifications.
Step 9: Revisions
- Notification: If the brand requires modifications, the task status switches to “Revisions Needed.” You'll also receive an email notification.
- Action Steps: Review the revision notes and the task brief again. Reshoot as needed within 3 days and re-submit via Crafted.
Step 10: Post-Approval Steps
- UGC Tasks: Upon brand approval, you're done! Your compensation will reflect in your total in the sidebar.
- Influencer Tasks: After approval, you'll need to post on the specified platform and then provide the post's shareable link on Crafted. This step is essential for compensation.
Step 11: Payments
- Dashboard View: Your outstanding balance is always visible in the sidebar on the Creator Dashboard.
- Payment Method: Currently, payments are processed through PayPal every Friday. Soon we will transition to Stripe so you can withdraw your balance as needed.
- Queries: If you haven't received your payment by Monday, contact us at hello@cookwithcrafted.com. Remember, payments will be directed to the email you registered with.
